Paradox
The title of this painting is “Paradox.” It depicts a paradox between the woman’s unconscious, or the “shadow” in Jungian terms, and the self she presents to the world through her bright clothing, cheerful makeup, and even dance. The frail, reclining female figure at the top represents the woman’s unconscious: weakened, suffering, and depleted, in stark contrast to her vibrant outward appearance. This work is acrylic on canvas, 40 × 60 cm, executed in an intense expressionist style with highly saturated colours and strong, decisive lines. The price of this piece is $600 .
