Shabnam Daghestani

Shabnam Daghestani is an Iranian visual artist based in Tehran. She works across several disciplines, including canvas painting, calligraphy and calligraphic painting, wall painting and patina finishes, decorative patina for accessories and furniture, interior design, and furniture restoration. Alongside her professional practice, she teaches painting to both adults and children. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and Interior Design from Tehran Pardis University and has completed specialized training in patina techniques and calligraphy. With over 14 years of professional experience in the visual arts, she has worked both independently and in collaboration with established creative teams. She began her professional activity in 2012. Between 2014 and 2015, she collaborated with Atelieri Interior Design Company under the management of Engineer Taghizadeh, working alongside designer Farzad Dalir, where she served as a project supervisor and site engineer for interior design and execution projects. In 2018–2019, she worked for nearly one and a half years with the team of Toohid Khalil Azar, contributing to executive projects in patina and mural painting. She is currently active as an independent artist while continuing her teaching practice. Her achievements include certificates of participation in domestic exhibitions issued by the Negara Art Team, Khorshid Gallery, and Andisheh Cultural Center, as well as an international exhibition certificate from World Art Dubai. Among her selected works are Heart and Soul, a mixed-media piece that fuses modern and traditional elements through calligraphic painting, and The Blue Queen, a mixed-media artwork featuring textured relief and layered materiality, exploring themes of identity, femininity, and self-reflection. Skills and techniques include oil painting, acrylic, watercolor, professional patina and material-based finishes, and antique mirror techniques. She also works with 3ds Max. She holds an IELTS certification (Academic & Speaking band score: 7).
