My name is Maryam Zarei, born in April 1991 in Iran. I am a visual artist whose practice is rooted in painting, with a focus on realism and traditional techniques. My artistic journey began in early childhood through drawing and basic art education. Over time, I developed a deeper and more independent practice, working primarily with acrylic and oil painting. This progression has been shaped by continuous observation, experimentation, and a sustained engagement with visual storytelling. My work focuses on portraiture and still life, where light, composition, and atmosphere play a central role. I am interested in capturing not only the physical appearance of my subjects, but also their emotional presence and inner stillness. Each painting becomes an attempt to translate perception into a quiet but expressive visual language.
